Directions

The Townhouse York is just a short taxi ride from the Station and, for those without heels, you could walk to the house if you wished.  If you’re walking from the city centre walk along Fossgate (located off Pavement to the rear of Marks and Spencers), go over the Foss bridge and continue onto Walmgate. Pass St Deny’s church on your right and you’ll find The Townhouse on your left just after ‘Bish Bash Pot’ and ‘The Little Blondie Bakery’.

If you’re using the Park and Ride, the best car park to use is Grimston Bar to the east of the city. Jump off at Picadilly, which runs parallel with Walmgate and cut through via Merchantgate or St Deny’s Road. Turn right at the end of either street you’ll find The Townhouse on your left after ‘The Little Blondie Bakery’.

If you’re arriving by car, either from the north or the south, you will most probably approach from the inner ring road. Pass through Walmgate Bar and continue along Walmgate passing Hope Street, Margaret Street and George Street on your left. Just after George Street, you’ll find The Townhouse to the right of ‘The Little Blondie Bakery’. We have a right to unload cars from Melrose’s Yard which is accessed through the covered way to the left of ‘The Little Blondie Bakery’. Parking is not permitted in the yard, which is very tight, so I would suggest you only unload here with heavy bags. If you have a wheelie case the easiest thing to do is park up first and arrive on foot.

The front door key is stored in a key safe within the front door case. An updated code will be provided at the time of booking.
