The Georgian Townhouse, No 70 Walmgate is a spacious, characterful house situated in the heart of historic York.  Recently restored to an exceptional standard, this boutique house combines Georgian elegance with modern comfort to guarantee a unique and luxurious experience. The Grade II* listed townhouse boasts a rich array of period features and even has its own secret staircase. Rooms are decorated with a delightful mix of antique and contemporary furniture and each bedroom has a bespoke personality; the only difficulty will be deciding which room you want to sleep in! Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and in all the bathrooms, combines with comfortable beds, crisp linen and a well-appointed kitchen to ensure that you feel truly spoilt and rested during your break.  A generous welcome hamper, which includes a bottle of prosecco and delicious, locally sourced treats, is also provided as standard for every stay.

Walmgate is a bohemian street full of independent shops, cafes and restaurants and there is a delightful bakery next door which will deliver to the house. The city centre shopping, the medieval Shambles and the Barbican Theatre are all located within a five-minute walk. You can, of course, just relax at The Georgian Townhouse which has everything you could possibly want, including a private courtyard. On colder nights, why not get cosy and gather around the huge antique dining table for a drink and a chat.
